A professor emeritus of urology at the Floating Hospital for Children of the Tufts University Medical Center, Dr. Klauber has worked in urology and pediatric urology his entire career. Taken on board at Tufts in 1979, he taught as a professor of urology and pediatrics, and served as chief of pediatrics urology. He formerly taught at the University of Connecticut and was director of pediatrics urology at Newington Children's Hospital. In 2014, Dr. Klauber accepted a position at Merrimack Urology Associates, a patient-centered adult and pediatric urology practice.
Dr. Klauber's clinical interests include reconstruction of the kidney, urinary tract and groin abnormalities, kidney stones, infections of the bladder and kidney, urinary incontinence, prenatally-diagnosed fetal kidney and urinary tract abnormalities, and interstitial cystitis in children. He has served on the advisory board for the National Kidney Foundation's Massachusetts's chapter, and has served on the advisory boards for the Tuberous Sclerosis Association of America since 1984 and the Rhode Island Spina Bifida Association since 1981.
Board certified by the American Board of Urology as a diplomate, Dr. Klauber earned an MD at Guy's Hospital Medical School in London, England, in 1964. Following this accomplishment, he completed an internship and surgical and urology residency at Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal, Canada, followed by a fellowship in pediatric urology at the Hospital for Sick Children in London, and Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool, England. He speaks English, French, and German.
Affiliated with the American Urological Association, the Massachusetts Society of Practicing Urologists, the Fetal Urology Urodynamic Society, and several other professional organizations, Dr. Klauber is an elected fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the American College of Surgeons. Having contributed numerous articles to professional and academic journals throughout his career, Dr. Klauber has also been included in several Who's Who editions, including Who's Who in America, Medicine and Healthcare, East, and World.
