Earlier in his career, Mr. D'Alesio came to prominence during his 25 year career in the Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps where he served in a variety of leadership positions including two tours as a Commanding Officer of Naval Legal Service Offices and six years as a Navy military judge. He retired at the rank of Captain (O-6). After retirement he became a program administrator for the youth offender program as well as a program administrator for the juvenile justice and offender-based programs for the city of Jacksonville. A recognized leader in his industry, Mr. D'Alesio was honored with a Florida Bar Military Affairs Committee Leadership Award, a Clayton B. Burton Award of Excellence from the Florida Bar, a Teen Court Magistrate Award from the Fourth Judicial Circuit State Attorney, and a Meritorious Community Service Award from Villanova University and the Legion of Merit from the United States Navy.
In addition to his work as an attorney and program administrator, Mr. D'Alesio is known for his contributions to various legal journals in his professional community. Most recently, he authored "Proposals for Settlement in Florida Wrongful Death Cases: Time for a Change," in the Trial Advocacy Quarterly Journal by the Florida Defense Lawyers Association. Other written works by Mr. D'Alesio includes "A Litigation Attorney's Formula for Changing the Factors that Influence a Patient's Decision to Sue," "The Benefits and Risks of Using Presuit Voluntary Binding Arbitration as an Alternative Dispute Resolution Process in Medical Malpractice Cases," and "Healthcare Professional Liability Review."
To prepare for his career, Mr. D'Alesio earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from La Salle University in 1970 and a JD from Villanova University in 1973. Admitted to practice law in the states of Pennsylvania and Florida, he holds specialty bar admissions to the Supreme Court of the United States, the U.S. Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces. To remain at the top of his field, Mr. D'Alesio is a member of the National Honor Society of Psychology, the Federal Bar Association, the Florida Bar, the Jacksonville Bar Association and the Catholic Lawyers Guild.
