Dedicated to his professional career in higher education, he spent seven years educating himself in the field, making him an excellent candidate for academia. First completing a Bachelor of Science in Biology at Sahmyook University and a Master of Philosophy at Seoul National University, he later returned to complete a PhD at Seoul National University in 1999 after he began teaching in the classroom.

In 2005, he also became a certified genetics counselor by The Association of Biotechnology Genetics.
Also known as the head researcher for Sahmyook University's Research Institute of Behavioral Fitness and Medicine since 2014, Dr. Kang first served as head researcher at the university's Health Promotion and Education Center. He has also spent time as a lecturer for NCSF in Korea, and was a researcher for the Seoulin Bioscientific Institute in Seoul.
Married to Sun Young Heo since 2003, with whom he has had two children, he has been included in Who's Who in Science and Engineering's most recent edition in 2016 as well as in every edition of Who's Who in the World since 2013.
