For more than 15 years, Dr. Lee has served as the principal researcher at the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute since 1999, acting as the leader of the SiGe Devices and Circuits Team from 2005 to 2008. Prior to that, he completed his post doctorate research with the institute in 1998 and 1999. He also worked in academia as an adjunct professor at Chungnam National University, teaching semiconductor engineering and courses on electronic magnetic, electronic circuit, logic circuit, and semiconductor devices from 2009 to 2011.
Dr. Lee studied Electronics Engineering at Chungnam National University, earning a Bachelor of Science in 1988, a Master of Science in 1992, and a PhD in 1998. He is the author and co-author of more than 145 articles on semiconductor devices and circuits published in technical journals and presented at conferences. He has served as a reviewer of IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices, Solid-State Electronics, Progress in Electromagnetics Research, and The Journal of Electromagnetic Waves and Applications. He has also reviewed the Journal of the Institute of Electronics and Information Engineers, the Journal of Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences, and the Journal of the Optical Society of Korea.
Dr. Lee acts as a consultant and interviewer at the Korea Institute for Research in the Behavioral Sciences and serves as an evaluation committee member of the National Research Project. He is a member of the Institute of Electronics and Information Engineers, the Korean Institute of Communications and Information Engineers, and the Korean Institute of Electromagnetic Engineering and Science. He is renowned in his industry for his developments in semiconductor technology, and a major highlight of his career was the application of a phase-locked loop with low-phase noise and low-power consumption to mobile apparatus.
Dr. Lee decided to pursue a career in his field to contribute to the academic progress and national industry of semiconductor technology. He is the son of Man Woo Lee and Jeong Ja Jeon, and is married to Min Hwa Seo, with whom he has two children, Ju Hyung Lee and Rae Hyung Lee. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking and cooking. He is also an army veteran, having acted as professional research personnel.
