Kenneth Keulman, PhD, Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

An accomplished listee, Dr. Keulman celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. A professor of international relations and ethics at Loyola University, New Orleans, Keulman earned a PhD at the University of Toronto in 1979. He has been teaching at Loyola since 1986. He was previously Rockwell Lecturer at the University of Houston, and also taught at Rice University. He was a research associate at the Center for European Studies at Harvard (1981-1986) where he directed a seminar on Nuclear Politics and Society. He was a visiting fellow at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University (1993-1994) where he initiated a seminar on "Post-Communist Transitions in Eastern Europe," and was a visiting scholar and associate at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at Harvard, and visiting scholar at Harvard Law School, Stanford Law School, and Harvard Divinity School.

The author of "The Nuclear Age: Strategies for Survival" (1989), Keulman then published "The Balance of Consciousness: Eric Voegelin's Political Theory" (1990) which seeks a better understanding of the many dimensions of consciousness through interpretations of the ideas of the 20th century philosopher Eric Voegelin. He co-authored and edited "Critical Moments in Religious History" (1993), co-authored "Horizons of Value Conceptions: Axiological Discourses for the 21st Century" (2007) and co-authored "European Identity" (2014). Additionally, Keulman has contributed chapters to books on topics such as nuclear weapons policy, security and defense policy in the European Union, violence and coexistence, and civic education, as well as articles in various professional journals, including Harvard International Review, French Politics and Society, and Human Rights Review. He also served as review editor for Human Rights Review (2003-2010).

Keulman was a contributor to the Stanford Conference Group on Regional Security Environment/Carnegie Commission on the Prevention of Deadly Conflict, and participated in the Carnegie Council on Ethics and International Affairs project on environmental policy. A member of the Association for the Study of Nationalities, the Asia Society, the Atlantic Council, the International Studies Association, and the American Political Science Association, he has been citied in numerous editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in the South and Southwest, and Who's Who in the World for his work.

The recipient of a Raskob Foundation Award, Keulman also won an Apple Computer Faculty Development Award (1988) and while serving as Chair of the Department of Religious Studies, was named Provost Distinguished Professor at Loyola in 2013, which honors outstanding faculty members primarily for their record of performance in scholarship.

Keulman was an invited speaker and roundtable participant at the 1989 Generation Initiative Conference on the Redefinition of the European Mission, at the London School of Economics and Political Science, in 2015. He was also an invited speaker and roundtable participant there at the 1989 Generation Initiative Conference on Tackling Populism: Hope Over Fear, in 2017.
