He has served as a physician and orthopedic hand surgeon with White Plains Hospital in New York since 1995. Throughout the course of his career, he has held many prestigious appointments, including as a medical consultant for the New York Rangers hockey team.
Dr. Fragner previously held positions as a Clinical Instructor in Orthopedic Surgery and Rehabilitation at the Yale University School of Medicine, Chief of the Division of Orthopedic Surgery at White Plains Hospital, and Chief of Hand Surgery at the Westchester Orthopedic Institute. He maintains involvement with a wide range of medical organizations, including the Westchester County Medical Society, Medical Society of the State of New York, New York Society for Surgery of the Hand, New York State Society of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Association for Hand Surgery, and the American Medical Association. Dr. Fragner is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Fragner was inspired to pursue a career in medicine at a young age. As an undergraduate, Dr. Fragner was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa national honor society. He then attended SUNY Upstate Medical University College of Medicine where he earned his M.D. in 1986, followed by a residency in orthopedic surgery which he completed in 1991. Dr. Fragner subsequently completed a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery and microvascular surgery at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.
Dr. Fragner chose to focus on orthopedics and hand surgery because it would allow him to remedy complaints of otherwise healthy patients. Dr. Fragner enjoyed the prospect of working with a variety of age groups ranging from children to elderly patients. Dr. Fragner is board certified in both orthopedic surgery and in hand surgery. Dr. Fragner has been featured in a wide range of honors publications, including Who's Who in America.
