With more than 30 years of experience in law, Ms. Koppa has been a circuit court commissioner and a register in probate for Manitowoc County, WI, since 1997. In these roles, she oversees the handling of estates, guardianships, trusts, as well as other legal duties. Prior to that, she operated a private practice from 1993 to 1997, and practiced with Muchin, Muchin, & Bruce, S.C. as an associate from 1985 to 1992.
Ms. Koppa began her career by obtaining a BS from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 1982, going on to earn a JD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1984. She is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Register in Probate Association, serving as secretary from 2015 to 2017 and president from 2017 to 2018, and the Manitowoc County Bar Association, for which she was secretary from 1991 to 1997. She has been admitted to practice in both the United States District Court Western District of Wisconsin and Eastern District of Wisconsin. She was a member of the chapter seven trustee panel for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, and a member of the board of directors of the bankruptcy and creditor rights sections for the State Bar of Wisconsin. From 2007 to 2011, she was a member of the forms and records management committee for the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
Included in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who of American Women, and Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America, Ms. Koppa has been married to John Michael Bruce since 1989 and has two daughters. She is currently a Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. leader and trainer for more than 20 years, EAA volunteer for 40 years, and was a volunteer with the Thunder on the Lakeshore.
