Widely regarded for his knowledge and expertise in the areas of internal medicine, critical care medicine, neurology, and vascular neurology, Dr. Fink takes great pride in educating medical students as a Louis and Gertrude Feil Professor in Clinical Neurology, a position he has held since 2012.
Prior to pursuing a career in the field of neurology, Dr. Fink received a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania in 1972. He subsequently attended the University of Pittsburgh, receiving an MD, cum laude, in 1976. Dr. Fink has since been recognized as a diplomate of the American Board of Critical Care Medicine, American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, American Board of Internal Medicine, and National Board of Medical Examiners. He is the former president and CEO of Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City.
In an effort to remain alert of recent developments in his fields of practice, Dr. Fink maintains involvement with the New York County Medical Society, New York State Neurological Society, and World Federation of Neurology. He is a recognized fellow of the American Neurological Association and American Academy of Neurology, as well as the Stroke Council of the American Heart Association. A respected voice in the medical community, Dr. Fink has contributed numerous articles to professional journals as well as multiple chapters to books pertaining to his areas of expertise. In addition, he has worked as an ad hoc reviewer for numerous industry-related publications and has served as a member of the editorial board with Neurology Chronicles since 1991.
Dr. Fink continues to provide guidance as a consultant, lecturer, and presenter in the field.
