An expert in the field of medical research, Dr. Kang has been a senior researcher with the Dongnam Institute of Radiological and Medical Sciences since 2011, and has additional duties as a technical manager. The institute has received recognitions from the Korean Laboratory Accreditation Scheme. Dr. Kang's areas of expertise include radioactive isotope handling, and he hold patents for a rotation type dual window phantom, a jig for blood irradiation apparatus, and a shelf of irradiation apparatus.
Dr. Kang began his career at Dong-A University, earning a Doctorate in 2012. He holds licenses for supervising radiation handling and for radioactive isotope handling. He is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the Korean Nuclear Society, the Korean Association for Radiation Protection, the Korean Physics Society, and the Korean Society of Medical Physics.
In recognition for his contributions to medical science, Dr. Kang has received several awards and accolades. He earned a grand prize from the Korean Physics Society for his work measuring multiple resonance parameters using pulsed neutrons with varying energy ranges (from 10eV to 1keV), and the Korean Society of Medical Physics honored him with an excellence award for his study on the evaluation of TRS-398 quality factors with central electrode corrections for small cylindrical chambers. Looking toward the future, Dr. Kang intends to continue in his work with the Dongnam Institute of Radiological Medical Sciences while taking on new opportunities as they come.
