A respected voice in the medical community, Dr. Robboy has specialized in the fields of obstetrics, gynecology and infertility for more than 40 years. He is recognized as a former associate professor of obstetrics-gynecology with the University of California, Irvine. From 1981 to 1983, he served as the departmental chairman and active staff in obstetrics and gynecology with Hong Memorial Hospital for 45 years. For 15 years, he served as a contract physician and interim director of abortion services with Planned Parenthood. He has found great fulfillment in delivering babies throughout his career.
Prior to pursuing a career in gynecology, Dr. Robboy received a BA from Case Western Reserve University in 1961. He went on to attend the Ohio State University, where he completed an MD in 1965. During this time, he became interested in obstetrics and gynecology due to the fields' incorporation of medical care and surgical skills. Upon completing formal education, he served in the military with the U.S. Public Health Service Hospital as a lieutenant commander and deputy director of outpatient services. From 1968 to 1972, he completed a residency at the UCLA Center for Health Sciences, as well as a residency at the City of Hope National Medical Center in the areas of general and gynecological surgery-oncology.

He is a member of the Pacific Coast Obstetrical and Gynecological Society, the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the AAGL, and the American Fertility Society. Throughout his career, he has contributed numerous articles to publications pertaining to his areas of expertise, including The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, and Obstetrics & Gynecology. In addition to receiving board certification through the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, he is a recognized fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG).
In Robboy's spare time, he has maintained a great interest in raising orchids and dahlias. He is an accredited judge for the American Dahlia Society. He is a lecturer and educator on the subject of orchids and has contributed extensively to local orchid groups. He received the Diamond Award from the Orchid Digest. As well, he is a lifetime member of the Newport Harbor Orchid Society.
