Dr. Ahmed began his career by obtaining a BA from New York University before earning an MD from the State University of New York Upstate Medical University. He went on to the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey to complete his studies in general surgery and urologic surgical training.
Throughout his career, he has contributed a number of articles, abstracts, and presentations covering a wide range of topics in robot-assisted laparoscopic surgery, including robotic prostatectomy, partial nephrectomy, minimal invasive bladder cancer surgery, female pelvic surgery and reconstructive surgery. He has been a pioneer in robotic minimal invasive urologic oncology and reconstructive surgery. He has been recognized for his work many times, including having won the Pfizer Scholars in Urology Award, the Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons Resident Achievement Award, and the Praecis Pharmaceutical Gerald P. Murphy Scholars Recognition. He also has been nominated by his peer numerous times to Castle Connelly's Top Doctor in the New York Metro area, New York Magazine Top Doctor, New Jersey Monthly Magazine Top Doctor, Bergen County Top Doctor, and New Jersey Insider Top Oncologist.
