Additionally, he is noted for his focus on matters relating to environmental law, particularly in the areas of hazardous, solid and radioactive waste management, RCRA corrective action, site remediation, asbestos management, release reporting, NEPA and NY State Environmental Quality Review Act review, and environmental due diligence for transactions. Throughout his career, he has represented buyers, sellers, borrowers, lenders, investors, syndicators and underwriters in myriad transactions involving the transfer of national and international real properties and businesses. While working with clients who have properties subject to federal and state programs, he ensures compliance with program requirements, appropriate allocation of cost among responsible parties, and return of the property to an appropriate use.
Prior to pursuing a career in law, Mr. Floro received a Bachelor of Arts, with honors, from Binghamton University in 1978 where he was also made a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He went on to attend Cornell Law School, where he completed a JD, magna cum laude, in 1983 where he was made a member of the Order of the Coif. He is admitted to practice in New York, as well as before the United States District Court for the Western District of New York. He is a member of the Monroe County Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. Additionally, he completed a Master of Arts in theology with the Northeastern Seminary in 2014.
