Celebrating 50 years at Community Memorial Hospital (Now VCU Health/CMH), Dr. Morris has been a dental staff member at the community-owned non-profit hospital since 1967. He also served his country as LT DC USNR from June 1965 to August 1967 and received a National Defense Service Medal. A well-respected dentist, colleague, and mentor who contributes to the organization's overall mission to provide quality, state-of-the-art health care in a convenient, friendly setting, Dr. Morris brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise with him to patients and staff members alike.
Dr. Morris earned his undergraduate degree at The University of Virginia in 1961, and his DDS at the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry (Currently known as VCU/MCV) in 1965. In an effort to remain alert of changes within the field, Dr. Morris is a longtime member of the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association, and Southside Component 3.
Past offices of the state of Virginia were the state chaplain, state faith fund coordinator, state vice president, and state president with The Gideons International, an evangelical Christian association that was founded in Wisconsin in 1899. Participated in a Missionary Extension Action Program in 1985 to Japan and in 1996 to Hong Kong. He is a member of Pleasant Hill Christian Church and Chairman of the Unified Board of Elders and Deacons. He also teaches Sunday School, sings in the choir, a quartet, and the praise team. Dr. Morris is also a member of the South Hill Chamber of Commerce, VCU Health Cornerstone Society, and the Lake Gaston Golf Club Association.
Furthermore, he is the active chairman of the Foundation board of the Mid-Atlantic Christian University. A former Gospel Records recording artist in 1978, Dr. Morris loves to fish and ski, as well as play golf, tennis, and basketball. He was a member of the swim team at the University of Virginia where he received an ACC medal. He also enjoys spending time with his 4 grandchildren. He has been included in several editions of Who's Who for his work.
