Her extensive history of working with hospital staff, community physicians, specialists, and administrators, combined with a level of confidence and expertise in composing reports, conducting presentations and annual conferences for the medical management committee, and serving as a national speaker and lecturer to physicians, all contribute to her successful, over 40 year career in healthcare.
Ms. Herrick began her career as a public health nurse for the Department of Public Health in the City of Minneapolis. She also taught as an instructor of nursing at San Francisco State University for 13 years, spent a year as a consultant for Med-Power Resources, two yeas as a coordinator of health services for the Alameda Unified School District, and nearly a decade as a team manager of home care nursing and program development coordinator for the Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice of Northern California. In 1999, she took on the role of manager of disease management and health awareness at East Bay Medical Network in Emeryville, CA, before becoming their interim director of medical management in 2000. That following year, she gained employment with the Children First Medical Group, where she remains today.
Highly educated, Ms. Herrick first earned a BSN at the University of North Dakota in 1967. She then completed an MS in Community Health Nursing at the University of Colorado and became an internationally certified professional in health care quality. She remains active as a member of the California Association for Healthcare Quality and the National Association for Healthcare Quality, and formerly served on the board of directors and as chair of the Bay Coast section of the California School Nurses Organization. Married to Michael M. Herrick with two sons, Ms. Herrick has been highlighted in multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Nursing, and Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare.
