Throughout the course of his career, Dr. Lee has been continually recognized for his contributions to the field of engineering. He was previously selected as the recipient of the Best Paper Award in the Telecommunications Area by the Korea Communication Agency. In addition, Dr. Lee received a Citation in the Company Business Management Area for his involvement in the development of future research themes for Samsung Electronics. Most recently, he was awarded the Citation in Company Business Management Area by Samsung Electronics in recognition of his ability to find and establish effective collaboration with global partners.
Prior to pursuing a career in engineering, Dr. Lee received a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology in 2005. He went on to complete a PhD in Information and Telecommunication Engineering through the institute in 2011. His dissertation, entitled "Millimeter wave Gbps low power system for mobile application," detailed the development of a whole high speed wireless video transferring system, which was accomplished by utilizing 60GHz millimeter-wave wireless technology.
Upon completing formal education, Dr. Lee joined Samsung Electronics as a member of the advanced device team, where he was responsible for the research and development of advanced IT technology for Samsung's new products. This included the development of a high speed wireless interface by using millimeter wave technology and wireless power transfer. In previous positions, Dr. Lee served as a teaching assistant in the area of electronics circuit and system.
As an engineering professional, Dr. Lee believes that the technology industry is one of the most impactful areas in human life. Due to its fast and unexpected nature, the field can be very challenging. To this end, Dr. Lee takes great pride in contributing his I.T. and science knowledge to prepare and create opportunities for the future in advance. As a result of this shift, he transitioned from a focus on engineering to a focus on research and development planning and strategy. Over the course of the last decade, Dr. Lee has authored more than a dozen papers in his areas of expertise. In addition, he holds intellectual property on a domestic and international scale.
