WASHINGTON, MD, January 26, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Linda Haithcox Taylor has been included in Marquis Who's Who. An expert in organization management, Ms. Haithcox Taylor has been the executive director of the National Policy Alliance (NPA) since 2005. In this position, she oversees a variety of projects, including fundraising and event management, and is responsible for working with African American officials and Black policy makers at the federal, state, and local levels of government in the United States, as well as including Caribbean, Canadian and African officials in the NPA meetings She manages fiscal operations, serves as the NPA primary contact with the White House Administration, gathers support on national issues, and maintains private and public sector relationships to assist NPA membership organizations in enhancing issues of mutual interest. From 1989-1992 and again from 2005-2011, she worked for the National Organization of Black County Officials (NOBCO). In her second term with NOBCO she served as the executive Director, in tandem with the NPA. Amongst her accomplishment includes being the lead organizer for the historic 2016 National Black Political Convention (NBPC) in Gary, Indiana, which was originally convened in 1972. Her interest in politics was sparked while pursuing her graduate degree and working for NOBCO.
Her career path includes managing departments or projects for Bristol-Myers Squibb; Olive Harvey Community College; Howard University; Bowie State University; two U.S. Presidential Campaigns; several state and local campaigns; United Negro College Fund (UNCF) and the Economic Development Department at the NAACP National Headquarters.
A Chicago native, Linda holds a BA in Public Relations from Mount Mary College (1982); and a MA in Organizational Communications and Management from Bowie State University (1992). She and her husband Leo have two daughters, a son in law, one son and three grandsons.
In addition, Ms. Haithcox Taylor is the founder and president of Women Love Sports Too! (WLST). Started in 1998, WLST aims to educate and uplift women by enhancing the understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of sports as a career option, a business opportunity and as a fan. She is an avid sports fan, a new author and a firm believer in mentoring. She also serves as an advisor to the World Conference of Mayors; is a board member of JV's Foundation (a support group against human trafficking); an advisor to Black Meetings and Tourism magazine; and is the board chair for the STEAM Academy (a local charter school in her community).
