JUNGNANG-GU, REPUBLIC OF KOREA, February 01, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Hye-Kyung Kang, Ph.D., has been included in Marquis Who's Who. With more than 30 years of experience in academia, Dr. Kang has served as a professor with the Department of English at Open Cyber University (OCU) since 2002. Prior to obtaining this role, she worked as a lecturer with Hannam University, KAIST and Sungkyunkwan University, having been an accountant with Tong Yang Securities Europe Ltd. in London, from 1990 to 1995. Earlier in her career, she worked as a language instructor with the University of London from 1989 to 1990, and as a lecturer with Kookmin University and Sogang University from 1986 to 1989. She has also served as a part-time lecturer with the Bank of Korea from 1988 to 1989.
Dr. Kang began her career as a student in the Department of English at Kookmin University, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in 1984, going on complete a Master of Arts with Sogang University in 1986. She later earned a second Master of Arts with Birkbeck College in 1994, and she later received a PhD from University College London in 2000.
In recognition of her contributions to the field of education, Dr. Kang has been featured in a wide range of honors publications. Most recently, she was selected for inclusion in the 1st edition of Who's Who in Asia, which was published in 2006. Dr. Kang was previously listed in the 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd and 23rd editions of Who's Who in the World. She served as Secretary-General (2008-2010) and Vice-President (2010-2012) of The Linguistic Society of Korea (LSK). She co-chaired The 1st World Congress of Scholars of English Linguistics (WCSEL-1). She also held the post of Secretary-General of The World English Linguistics Association (WELA).
