With more than 45 years of industry experience to his credit, Mr. McIntosh currently works as the president of McIntosh Ink, Inc., a position he has held since 1971. Concurrently, he also serves as co-owner of the Lucky St. Gallery in Key West, FL, as well as the design director at Hawkeshaw Consulting. During this time, Mr. McIntosh held the position of executive vice president of advertising for Chill International, Inc. from 2004 to 2013.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. McIntosh pursued an education at Hobart College, attending courses from 1965 to 1967. He concluded his studies at the Rhode Island School of Design in 1971, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts.
Beyond his efforts within the field, Mr. McIntosh has contributed to numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. From 1989 to 1995, he was on the Board of Overseers for the New England Conservatory, and he has also been notably active on the Board of Directors for Sail Martha's Vineyard. Additionally, he has been recognized as an artwork contributor for Ducks Unlimited, and has completed artwork for advertising for Bose, Wang Laboratories, and National Aeronautics and Space Administration. His work has also been featured at the Gingerbread Square Gallery, the Gallery on Greene, Lucky Street Gallery, Grannary Gallery, Casa Vieja Gallery, and the W.H. Patterson Gallery. Furthermore, Mr. McIntosh has served as an illustrator in such works as "The Foolish Dinosaur Fiasco" in 1978, "The Mysterious Zetabet" in 1980, "Witch Way to the Country" in 1995, "The Longest Hair in the World" in 1999, and the "Angus and Edmond" series, which includes "The Adventures of Angus and Edmond," "The Key West Adventures of Angus and Edmond," and "The Italian Mystery Adventures of Angus and Edmond."
In light of his exceptional undertakings, Mr. McIntosh has accrued several accolades and honors throughout his impressive career. A recipient of the Unsung Heroes Award from the Anne McKee Artists Fund, he was presented with the Silver Medal from the Virgin Islands International Film Festival in 1976, the Silver Funny Bone Award from the Society of Illustrators in 1978, and the Gold Medal from the Society of Newspaper Designers in 1985. He has also been honored with First Place recognition by the Francis Hatch Advertising Awards in 1998, and the New England Newspaper Awards in 1998, as well as the Silver Award from the Society of Newspaper Designers in 2000. Most recently, Mr. McIntosh received a Southern Florida Consortium Grant in 2015.
A member of the Key West Yacht Club, Mr. McIntosh enjoys playing music, ski racing, playing tennis, fishing, and skeet shooting in his spare time. Inspired by his natural affection for art, he was selected for inclusion in multiple editions of such esteemed publications as Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the East, and Who's Who in the World. Looking toward the future, Mr. McIntosh hopes to continue excelling in both commerce and artistic endeavors while cementing his status as a leader in his trades.
