Prior to joining Dechert, Mr. Rosoff was President and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Advanta Corp., one of the country's largest credit card companies, for 15 years. Prior to joining Advanta he served as Chairman of the Executive Committee and Chairman of the Tax Department of Wolf, Block, Schorr and Solis Cohen, then one of the largest law firms based in Philadelphia, where he practiced for 27 years.
Mr. Rosoff has given presentations at the Internal Revenue Service's National Office and Harvard Law School. He has also been a frequent speaker on tax issues, and served the U.S. Treasury Department as an outside advisor. He was a tax advisory board member for Commerce Clearing House and Tax Analysts, and played a leading role in the American Law Institute's Proposals on Partnership Taxation, a number of which became law.
Mr. Rosoff is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he was editor of the Law Review, and a member of The Order of the Coif. He then clerked for the Honorable Abraham L. Freedman of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Mr. Rosoff is admitted to practice in the States of Pennsylvania and New York. He is a member of the American College of Tax Counsel, American Law Institute, Temple University Fox School of Business Board of Visitors, and the Rothman Institute Orthopedic Foundation's Board of Directors.
