Dr. M. Swingle practiced with the Swingle Clinic from its inception in 1997, acting as vice president 2015-2017. For many years her primary areas of expertise resided in education, family dynamics and family systems. She then branched out exploring the effects of emergent technology on social, emotional and cognitive function. In 2015 she was awarded an Early Career Impact Award from The Federation of Associations in Behavioral & Brain Sciences for 'her major research contributions to the sciences of mind, brain and behaviour'...'and increasing awareness of research through media and public outreach' and most recently 'Digital Age Behavioural Specialist of the Year 2018' from the UK's GHC Private Healthcare Awards. Dr. M. Swingle began her career with a BA in Visual Arts from the University of Ottawa in 1987, before going on to earn an MA in Language Education from the University of British Columbia in 1997. She became a Board Certified Neurotherapist in 2000, and holds a broad base of complementary certifications; including level 2 certification in EMDR and EFT, as well as a level 1 Certification in Craniosacral Therapy, Hypnosis and Parent/Infant Mental Health. In 2005, she returned to studies to broaden her scope of knowledge & practice and obtained a second MA and PhD in Clinical Psychology from Fielding Graduate University (2013).
Throughout her career, Dr. M. Swingle has authored numerous papers, presentations and articles in professional journals, and has been equally recognized for her contributions to awareness in the general public. She believes strongly in the power of community, friendship, and positive mentors and acts as a resource for those trying to pursue life goals. She dedicates her career to contributing to her community by helping people affect change in their lives and those of others. She practices as both a consultant and individual therapist.
