With more than 35 years of industry experience to her credit, Dr. Ushana began her career as Program Director for Creative Arts at Buser Institute, Switzerland. She continued her professional activities as the owner and director of Sunstar Productions from 1981 to 1987. She held the position of publisher at LumaArts Publishing from 1982 to 1992. From 1995-2003, she acted as director for NuVision Media, producing educational DVD's. Dr. Ushana has worked as the owner, chief executive officer, and creative director for LightWorld Publishing since 2007.
Before embarking on her professional path, Dr. Ushana received an International Exchange Scholarship from the University of Osnabrueck, Germany to Michigan State University, USA and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. She received an International Liberal Arts Scholarship from MSU to study at the University of Mexico City, Mexico for postgraduate coursework. She followed this accomplishment receiving a Master of Arts degree in psychology and education from the University of Osnabrueck. She is a graduate of the Institute of Children's Literature. Dr. Ushana concluded her academic efforts at the University of Sedona, graduating with a Doctor of Philosophy in Metaphysical Counseling.
Beyond her responsibilities within these fields, Dr. Ushana has contributed to numerous endeavors outside of her professional circles. She has previously served as producer for the Arts in Education Program in San Francisco, CA. She also found success as an author, having written such works as: "Glitter Eye: The Adventures of a Rain Drop" in 2009, "Way Out Water Works: The Miracle of Creativity" in 2010, "Way Out Water Works: The Miracle of Science" in 2012 and "Glitter Eye: The Ocean Journey" in 2014. Her newest books are titled: "Let It Be Love: Discover Your Treasure Chest", and "Live Your Life: Discover Your Self," both interactive, illustrated journals for self empowerment.
She is a notable, award-winning painter with numerous museum and gallery exhibitions to her credit. Her paintings are in many private and public collections world-wide, such as Warner Brothers Records, Bradley International Airport, the Trump Tower, and Scripps Research Institute.
Her works both as a painter and photographer were featured in the book: "Planet Earth: Dimensions of Change", and the multinational "Magazine 2029" in 1994 and 1995, among others.
In light of her exceptional undertakings, Dr. Ushana has accrued several accolades and honors throughout her impressive career: The Los Angeles Times feature article: "Ushana: Art on a Different Plane". In 1988, she received the Excellence Award in Painting from Art Horizons, and a First Place Award from IAC, NYC. Additionally, she was presented with the Excellence Award by Photographer's Forum Magazine in 1992.
Dr. Ushana has also been an active member of the National Association of Professional Women, The Oxford Club and the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.
Furthermore, Dr. Ushana was selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in the West, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who of American Women.
