Prior to obtaining this role, he was a researcher and research professor at the Yonsei University Institute of Information and Technology and Institute of Convergence Technology from 2013 to 2014.
Dr. Lee began his career as a student at Daegu University, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in physics education in 1998. He went on to study at Yonsei University, completing a Master of Science in physics and applied physics in 2004, and earning a PhD in electrical and electronic engineering in 2010. He served as a postdoctoral researcher with the school in 2010, before joining Sejong University's Graphene Research Institute as a researcher from 2010 to 2012. He is a member of the Korean Physical Society, the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, the Korean Institute of Electromagnetic Engineering Science, the American Nano Society.
A respected voice in the field, Dr. Lee has written extensively in his areas of expertise, including one chapter in the book "Advanced Bioelectronic Materials," articles in peer-reviewed journals such as Applied Physics Letters, Biosensors and Bioelectronics, and various editions of the IEEE. He has served as a guest editor for the Journal of Electromagnetic Engineering and Science and as a reviewer for multiple academic journals. He has also lectured at various universities in their engineering departments, including Ajou University, Seokyeong University, Ewha Woman's University, Catholic University, Gongju National University, Kookmin University, and Daegu University.
Throughout his career, Dr. Lee has been recognized for his contributions, having received a Recognized Reviewer Status Award from Elsevier. Daegu University named him a Best Teaching Professor in 2016, and Yonsei gave him a Silver Prize in the Best Paper Contest in 2008.
