MONROVIA, CA, February 23, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to name David Allen Butler with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Butler celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in her field. A librarian and typesetting company executive, Mr. Butler accrued more than four decades in the field before retiring in 2016. He started his career as a proofreader at the L.A. Times from 1967 to 1968, at which point he became a teacher at Pasadena City Schools for a year and joined the U.S. Army for three years. After his enlistment ended, he returned to his post at the L.A. Times until 1972, when he joined Freedmen's Organization as a typesetter and realized he had found his niche. Mr. Butler was promoted to president of the company in 1977, and stayed there for the next 24 years. From 2001 until 2016, he worked as a library cataloger.
To prepare for his endeavors, Mr. Butler earned a Bachelor of Arts from Point Loma Nazarene University in California in 1966 (then known as Pasadena College). He later obtained a library technician certificate at Citrus College. He keeps in touch with his peers through his membership with the Point Loma Nazarene University Alumni Association. As a testament to his hard work and dedication, he was honored with inclusion in numerous editions of Who's Who in the West, Who's Who in the World, and Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
When Mr. Butler had spare time, he enjoyed using his background to help out in his community. He has been a librarian for his church, Church of the Nazarene, for more than 20 years. He also plays piano for the church and writes their weekly bulletin. Furthermore, he plays piano at rest homes. In addition, he is secretary of the board for his local Church of the Nazarene and also secretary of the board for Pacific International Theological Seminary.
