Allen Benowitz and Associates Inc., of Miami, FL, spent over 40 years providing court reporting, video, and litigation support services to the South Florida and national legal and business communities. Becoming owner and president of Worldwide Videoconferencing Corporation for the latter 20 years until 2009, he also simultaneously served as vice president of Veritext Florida Reporting Company for over 10 years. His accomplishments in the court reporting, legal videography, and videoconferencing areas spun off into the formation of his newest venture, H-AllenArt.com Inc., in 2002.
As owner and president, Mr. Benowitz is living out his childhood dream working in fine art photography. His works have been recognized worldwide, with invitations to photo journals in the Sahara Desert and other exquisite locations. His pieces have received much acclaim. He was selected as a winner for an architectural entry in Morocco, called "La Medina Archway I" in a global competition sponsored by the American Institute of Architects in 2014. He was also selected as one of Art Business News' Top Emerging Artists for 2014, and his photograph 'Cigar Lady' was selected for inclusion in the Portraiture Collection as part of the Fifth Annual Exposure Awards Competition, which was presented at a private reception at the Musee de Louvre in Paris, France, in 2015. Furthermore, of over 30 awards in the past five years, 'Cigar Lady' received a total of seven.
Mr. Benowitz's artwork has also been featured in multiple publications such as The International Contemporary Artists art book, as well as in exhibits across New York, Massachusetts, North Carolina, and Florida, and solo exhibitions in various galleries throughout the country. Furthermore, he has lectured numerous times in his area of expertise, which consists mostly of landscape, wildlife, people, architecture, and adventure travel images.
Mr. Benowitz previously served as a chairman of the audio and video subcommittee for the National Court Reporters' Association. A member of the Academy of Professional Reporters, the National Court Reporters Association, the Anti-Defamation League, and the Association of Public Corporations, he has been active in the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce and has been a longtime member of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation since 1984. Notably, Mr. Benowitz received the Distinguished Service Award from the Florida Court Reporters Association in 1991. Mr. Benowitz served as founding president of the first video conference network for the legal profession nationally, Legal Image Network Communications (LINC).
Born in Brooklyn, NY, Mr. Benowitz studied at the Interboro Institute of Business in Manhattan, where he received an AA in Court Reporting in 1961. That same year he was hired as a hearing reporter for the Department of Motor Vehicles in New York City. The following year, he relocated to South Florida and began an eight-year career as a court reporter for the Dade County Circuit Court in Miami, while simultaneously working as a freelance reporter for Jack W. Mallicoat. He has since become a registered professional court reporter and certified legal video specialist.
