Bonnie Johnson Conrad Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Ms. Conrad has been endorsed by Marquis Who's Who as a leader in the art industry

MENDON, UT, February 28, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Bonnie Johnson Conrad with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Conrad celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Artist and owner of Windance Fine Art, Ms. Conrad is a well-known oil painter who has long been inspired by her husband, Roger Conrad's line of work as a ranch manager. Living on several ranches throughout the west, including Texas, Wyoming, Montana, Nevada, Oregon and Utah, Ms. Conrad continues to portray the images that are so engrained in her mind; images that include such subjects as cowboys, women and children, Native Americans and farm animals. Working out of her studio in rural Mendon, UT, at the foot of the Wellsville Mountains, she says that she strives to portray the noteworthy and beautiful in life. She may portray the relationship between a mother and child, a cowboy and his trusted mount, or the motion and riotous color of a Native American dance.

Some of Ms. Conrad's favorite artists have included James Reynolds, Carolyn Anderson and Richard Schmidt. Throughout her career, her paintings have been featured in many group shows including the Old West Museum in Wyoming, the C.M. Russell Show in Montana, the Desert Caballeros Museum and the Phippen Museum in Arizona and the Rockwell Museum in New York. Purchase Awards have been presented by the Clymer Museum, Ellensburg, WA, the Pioneer Museum and the Eccles Museum, Dixie State University in St George, Utah.

The recipient of numerous awards at various national shows over the years, including Featured Artist and Purchase Award, St. George Arts Fest 2015, Southwest Art's Publisher's Award 2012, OPA's Zwei Tu Color Award in 2003, Best of Show Western Spirit, 2003, Best of Show, Western Heritage, Ms. Conrad is a proud Signature Member of Oil Painters of America, American Women Artists, American Plain Artists and a member of the Mountain Oyster Club. She has been featured in several periodicals, books, and magazines.

As a child, Conrad held beautiful art and it's creators in high esteem, even "geniuses" but never dreamed she could produce such magnificence. However, in 12th grade, upon viewing the work of a friend who was taking an art class, Conrad realized the friend was "just a person like myself" and that maybe she could do some work equally as fine. She picked up a brush for the first time. Later, she earned a Bachelor of Arts at Brigham Young University in 1968, the same year that she and her husband married. From then on she studied art and improved her artist skills at every opportunity. Three of her six children were born before a chance for formal studies under master draftsman Kent Goodliffe were possible. Soon after that experience she began selling her artwork and winning prizes in amateur divisions. When she entered her first competition on a professional level at the Cody Country National Invitational 1988, she won Best of Show and launched her professional career. She continued her education via workshops sponsored by other distinguished artists such as Dan Mieduch, Kathryn Stats and Matt Smith. Notably, Ms. Conrad has been cited in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the West and Who's Who of American Women. For more information, please visit www.bonnieconrad.com.
