With nearly 65 years of professional experience, Mr. Robinson has been an advisor for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration since 2002, where he has established a program to stimulate competitive research. In addition to his primary role, he served as the technical director of the Norman Economic Development Coalition from 2003 to 2016. Prior to obtaining these positions, he was the president of Cardinal Associates from 1984 to 2002, president and chief executive officer of Mesa Diagnostics from 1984 to 1985, and vice president of research and development with ICL Scientific from 1973 to 1984. In 1981, he was a manager with Hycel, and from 1979 to 1981 he was associate director of research and development with Boehringer Mannheim. Earlier in his career, he was with Abbott Laboratories from 1953 to 1983 as a director of advanced systems and manager of the diagnostics division.
Mr. Robinson began his career as a student at Colgate University, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in 1949. He went on to complete a Master of Arts with Wesleyan University in 1951, and he earned a Master of Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1953. An expert in the field, he is a member of the American Chemical Society, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the New Mexico Academy of Science, and the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation.
Throughout his career, Mr. Robinson has been recognized for his contributions, winning a Martin Award in 2001. One of the highlights of his career was introducing a senso-graph for bone growth to the Food and Drug Administration. Looking toward the future, Mr. Robinson intends to use his expertise to help educate others through the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
