In addition to maintaining his businesses, Mr. Richards also writes extensively. He created the blog "Civil War Warren County" in 2011. His books go back as far as 1995, when he first authored "Penn, Patriots and the Pequest: The History of Pre-Victorian Belvidere, 1716-1845." Outside of his writings, Mr. Richards has served as a historical consultant, press officer of the Warren County Office of Emergency Management in Belvidere, photography judge for Warren County 4-H in Belvidere, foreign policy leadership participant at George Washington University, and member of the Statue of Liberty Ellis Island Foundation. Mr. Richards has been a bread baker locally for a large retailer for the past four years.
Remaining active with the National Indian Wars Association, the Oxford New Jersey Historical Society, the Society of Professional Journalists, the National Press Photographers Association, and several other professional organizations, Mr. Richards has been honored for his work several times. In 2007, he was the recipient of a Legion of Honor Award from the Chapel of Four Chaplains.
