Ms. Denes is a well-known physical therapist in her area who has been recognized for her talents, professionalism and expertise in the field. Practicing in and around Detroit for much of her career, she has been a senior physical therapist at the Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan in Detroit for the past 11 years and has been simultaneously running her own consulting LLC, Denes Physical Therapy Consultant, LLC, for the past 14 years.
Earning a BS in physical therapy at the University of Michigan in 1972, and becoming certified in neuro-developmental treatment in adult hemiplegia, which is paralysis on one side of the body, as well as in physical therapy, Ms. Denes began her career as a staff physical therapist at Sinai Hospital of Detroit. Five years later, she moved into the role of supervisor and three years later, had become the chief of physical therapy supervisor, where she remained for another nine years. Leaving the hospital after 16 years of service to take on new challenges, Ms. Denes began working at Rehabilitation Physicians, Professional Corporation, and for the Special Tree Rehabilitation Systems in Birmingham, MI, from 1989 to 1998. She then worked as a program development coordinator at Great Lakes Rehabilitation Hospital and later as a physical therapy coordinator at Progressive Rehabilitation Network until 2005. Ms. Denes is also a regular lecturer across the U.S. for the seminar companies Pesi Healthcare and Vyne Education since 2013.
Giving back to her community, Ms. Denes also spent eight years as a lecturer and adjunct instructor in the College of Allied Health Professions at Wayne State University in Detroit from 1982 to 1990. A longtime member of the American Academy of Oral Medicine and the Neurodevelopmental Treatment Association, she has been highlighted in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who's Who in the Midwest, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who of American Women. Happily married for 34 years to George Denes, Ms. Denes is also the proud parent of one son.
