Worth International Airport. Since the inception of his career, Mr. Bellanca has been continually trusted with executive-level involvement in airport development programs for Dallas-Ft. Worth, Tehran, Atlanta, Chicago, New Orleans, Denver, Barcelona, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, New Seoul, Detroit Downtown People Mover and Istanbul International at an estimated constructed value of $50 billion in present value. Early in his career, Mr. Bellanca received a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Purdue University in 1958. Mr. Bellanca worked as an associate and resident manager with the consultancy prior to founding his own consulting business in 1977. Since then, he has held executive roles with a wide range of businesses, including Schal Associates; Greiner, Inc.; Bechtel Corporation; Turner Construction Company; Bovis Lend Lease; and Heery International. Mr. Bellanca is noted as a lobbyist with the Airport Consultants Council, as well as a former editor of "Airports-Challenges of the Future" and "World Travel Center-Detroit Metropolitan Airport." He has served as a board member with various neighborhood associations, in addition to lending his services as a pro-bono consultant in his fields of expertise.
A former president with the Mid-Cities Chapter of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers, Mr. Bellanca was named Young Engineer of the Year by the organization in 1971. He maintains involvement with a variety of industry organizations, including the Georgia Society of Professional Engineers and National Society of Professional Engineers. In addition, Mr. Bellanca is recognized as a fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
