With more than 50 years of professional experience, Ms. McKee has been the president of the Human Resources Consortia since 1996, and an instructor of human resources with the University of California, Santa Barbara since 2007. In addition to her primary roles, she served as a consultant for Right Management from 1997 to 2010 and for Marshall-Qualtec in 1997. From 1993 to 1995, she was senior vice president of human resources with Standard Chartered, having been senior vice president with First Interstate Bancorp from 1980 to 1992. Earlier in her career, she worked as a manager of compensation with Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation from 1975 to 1980, and in various roles in HR while with Mattel, Inc., from 1963 to 1975.
Ms. McKee began her career as a student at the University of California, Santa Barbara, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in sociology in 1959. After gaining some experience in the field, she returned to her studies at the University of California, Los Angeles, where she has been recognized as a diplomate of the executive program at the Anderson School of Management since 1979. She is certified by HRCI as an SPHR, and the Society for Human Resource Management as SHRM-SCP.
A respected leader in the field, Ms. McKee has also been active in her community, having sat on the executive committee of the Emergency Public Information Communicators (EPIC) from 2006 to 2014, and she was a colleague of the National Institute for Prevention of Workplace Violence, Inc., from 1996 to 2000. Throughout her career, she has been recognized for her contributions, having been named an Outstanding Senior Woman and receiving the Senior Honor Key Award from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She was the recipient of a William Winter Award from the American Compensation Association, a Professional Excellence Award from the Society for Human Resource Management, an Excellence Award from the Los Angeles Personnel Industrial Relations Association, and has been a Member of the Year Honoree of the International Association of Personnel Women. Ms. McKee credits her success to persevering and never giving up, especially during a time when women played a smaller role in business.
