Ms. Runser graduated with a Master in Music Education from Duquesne University in 1977 and received a Bachelor in Music Education, cum laude, from West Virginia Wesleyan College in 1974. She is recognized in her community for her work as a music educator and director, and she is certified to teach vocal and instrumental music in grades K-12 in the state of Pennsylvania. In 1978, she founded her own private practice where she has now served for 40 years. She began her career in education as a vocal music teacher for grades K-12 at the Edgewood School District, where she served until 1978. She also served as a music teacher at the Murrysville United Methodist Pre-School from 2001 to 2005, the Level Green President Pre-School from 1987 to 2006, and as a music director at the 1st United Methodist Church since 1986, and with the Monroeville Community Chorus since 1984. She shares her musical expertise as an accompanist for soloists and ensembles and as an organ player for weddings.
Ms. Runser was actively involved in the Order of the Eastern Star, where she applied her talents and administrative skills in a variety of positions. She was also a member of the American Guild English Hand Bell Ringers, the Mortar Board, Zeta Tau Alpha and Sigma Alpha Iota, and was civically engaged with the Strong Family Association of America, where she acted as a member of the board of directors and corresponding secretary from 1977 to 2002, and the International Order Rainbow Girls and Pennsylvania Grand Assembly. Additionally, Ms. Runner also served as a charter and lifetime member of the Fellowship of United Methodists in Music and Worship Arts. In recognition of her professional excellence, she has been featured in Who's Who in Entertainment and numerous editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in the East, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who of American Women.
Ms. Runser is the daughter of Daniel Kline and Mary Anne (Logan) Strong. She has been married to Frederic William Runser for 40 years. They have two children, Heather Dianne and Megan Danielle. In her spare time, she enjoys needlecrafts, reading, computers, and genealogy, and she even acted as the co-author of a book on genealogy, "Strong Family History Update," Volume IV, published in 1995.
