Ms. Myszka is a registered nurse certified in operating room nurse and sterile processing who has been practicing in her field in what will be 40 years in 2018. Starting out as a nursing aide and acute care technician and licensed practical nurse at Buffalo Hospital in 1978 and 1979, she completed a Diploma at Buffalo General School of Nursing and began working as a registered nurse. Buffalo Hospital promoted Ms. Myszka to assistant head nurse in 1981, operating room nurse in 1983, to include responsibilities of staffing, team leader and taking a charge role overseeing 21 operating rooms.
Ms. Myszka currently works at Millard Fillmore Surgery Center as a RN Manager since 2015 overseeing Pre-Op, OR PACU and SPD.
Ms. Myszka took the role of clinical educator at Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI) in 2006. Remaining consistent with the vision of its founder, they were among the first to be designated a comprehensive cancer center by the National Cancer Institute in 1974 and have held that distinction every year since.
Ms. Myszka served on District I, the legislative committee, and the peri-operative task team as part of the New York State Nurses Association, where she served on the board of directors from 2003 to 2005. She is also a member of the Association of Perioperative Nurses of Western New York, where she previously served on the board of directors, as president-elect, and as president for three terms, and is as a member of the Buffalo General School of Nursing Alumni and Sigma Theta Tau International, APIC, and IAHCSMM.
Ms. Myszka has been named Western New York Nurse of Distinction in 2001 and included in various editions of Who's Who in American Nursing and Who's Who of American Women. She has been active locally on the Niagara County Community College advisory board since 1994 and is a Eucharist minister at St. Christopher's Church in Tonawanda, NY.
