Mr. Harris practiced in Lakeland, FL, for more than 30 years, during which time he gained experience in a number of areas. Formerly an associate with Holland & Knight and president and senior attorney for Harris & Midyette, PA; Harris, Midyette & Clements PA; Harris, Midyette, Geary, Darby & Morrell, PA; and Harris, Midyette & Darby which ultimately merged with Peterson & Myers, PA. Chris joined the law firm of Kinsey, Vincent, Pyle, PL, Of Counsel, in 2003. In this role, his practice areas include business law, commercial transactions, estate planning, probate and trust administration, real estate and contracts, and corporate and business entities.
Mr. Harris served to the rank of Captain, USMCR, from 1968-1977. During his active duty service, Capt. Harris served as Asst. Staff Judge Advocate and a Special Courts Martial Military Judge.
Beginning in 1977, Mr. Harris was a member of the 10th Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee for nine years, serving as its vice chairman and chairman. He is a member of the Volusia County Bar Association and Attorneys' Title Fund Services, LLC. An art collector and avid fan of motor sports, he is also affiliated with the Art League of Daytona Beach, served as a director of the managing board of AMA Pro Racing, and is currently a Judge for the FIA International Tribunal and Court of Appeals for Motorsports. He was a founding member of Grand American Road Racing, LLC, and has served on the board of directors of the International Speedway Corporation since 1984. He has also recently been appointed as an alternate appeal officer for NASCAR.
Mr. Harris holds an Associate of Arts from Oxford College of Emory University, a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Florida, and a JD, with honors, from the University of Florida College of Law. He was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1970, and has also been admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, the U.S. Court of Military Appeals, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, during his career. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies, and a member of The Order of the Coif, Florida chapter.
