In addition to his primary academic role, he has served as a member of the Education and Research Council from 2010 to 2012, and from 2016 to present, as executive advisor to the president from 2013 to 2015, as head of the Department of International Cultural Studies from 2015 to 2016, having previously held the post from 2009 to 2010, and as dean of the School of International Studies since 2017. Prior to obtaining his current roles, he was an associate professor from 1991 to 2004, and an assistant professor from 1983 to 1991. He has also worked with the Tokyo Metropolitan College of Aeronautical Engineering as an assistant professor from 1983 to 1987.
Mr. Sasaki began his career as a student at Tokyo Gakugei University, earning a Bachelor of Education in 1981, and a Master of Education in 1983. He is a member of the Linguistic Society of America, the English Linguistic Society of Japan, the Society of English Grammar and Usage, and the English Literature Society of Japan.
As a respected voice in the field, Mr. Sasaki has published 68 articles in professional journals, and authored and coauthored eight books, including A New Trend English Grammar for University Students. Throughout his career, he has been recognized for his contributions, earning features in Who's Who in the World each year from 2010 to 2016.
