Murray Greason Celebrates 50 Years of Practiced Law Experience

Mr. Greason received the Distinguished Citizen Award from the Old Hickory Council, BSA, the WFU Medallion of Merit, and The Order of the Longleaf Pine

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC, March 13, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Murray Greason has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

With more than 50 years of professional experience, Mr. Greason has been retired since 2012, having been a member of Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice (now Womble Bond Dickinson) since 1970, and an associate from 1965 to 1970. In addition, he served as the managing partner of the firm from 1988 to 1996. In these roles, he offered merger and acquisition services, tax law solutions, and corporate and charitable law services. In addition, he lent his expertise to Wake Forest University as a visiting lecturer, and he has served on the board of visitors for the institution's School of Law, and on the University's Board of Trustees, including as its Chair. He is a life trustee of Wake Forest University, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Wake Forest College Birthplace Society.

Mr. Greason began his career as a student at Wake Forest University, obtaining a Bachelor of Science, magna cum laude, in 1959, and a JD, magna cum laude, in 1962. He has been a member of the American College of Tax Counsel, the American Bar Association, and the North Carolina Bar Association. In addition to his professional affiliations, he has served on a large number of community boards, including on the Board of Directors of the Winston-Salem Chamber of Commerce (including as its Chair), the board of the Wake Forest Innovation Quarter and Forsyth Technical College Foundation, and the board of directors for the Community Care Center, believing deeply in helping others.

Throughout his career, Mr. Greason has been recognized for his contributions, having earned the Distinguished Citizen Award from the Boy Scouts of America's Old Hickory Council, the WFU Medallion of Merit, the WFU Distinguished Alumni Award, The Order of the Longleaf Pine (North Carolina's highest civilian honor, awarded by the Governor), the Norman Coan Hope Award from the MS Society, and the Lake Family Public Service Award from the North Carolina Bar Association in 2005. He served as a Captain in the Judge Advocate General's Corp, United States Army from 1962 to 1965.

He is married to the former Joan Wilder of Raleigh and they have three grown children: Murray C. Greason, III, Millicent Greason and Hillary Greason, and granddaughters May Teague and Lila Fern Teague.
