Drawing upon more than three decades of medical experience, Dr. Gosain focuses on pediatric plastic surgery. He currently serves as the service board chairman of pediatric plastic and reconstructive surgery with the Division of Plastic Surgery at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. In this position, Dr. Gosain takes great pride in being part of a group of plastic surgeons that provides surgical services for children with deformities. His areas of expertise include craniofacial and vascular anomalies, congenital nevi, correction of cleft lip and palate and secondary deformities, distraction of the facial skeleton, dynamic reanimation for facial paralysis and the treatment of neurofibromatosis, cosmetic surgery in adolescents, and rhinoplasty. Since 2012, Dr. Gosain has also served as a professor of plastic surgery with the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.

His most recent publications include "American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons 2006 to 2016: Another Decade of Excellence in Education and Research," "Discussion: The Drivers of Academic Success in Cleft and Craniofacial Centers: A 10-Year Analysis of over 2000 Publications" and "Elizabeth Croll: ASPS Patient of Courage 2016." In addition, Dr. Gosain has delivered presentations at national and international meetings.
Prior to pursuing a career in medicine, Dr. Gosain was recognized as the valedictorian of his graduating class at Fox Chapel Area High School in 1973. He went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts in biology, magna cum laude, from Princeton University in 1977 and MD from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA in 1981. Upon completing formal education, Dr. Gosain completed a general surgery internship and residency in general surgery through the UCSF Medical Center and University of California, San Francisco. He also completed a residency in general surgery through the University Hospital in Newark, NJ, as well as a residency in plastic surgery and fellowship in hand and microsurgery through the Affiliated Hospitals Program at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Most recently, Dr. Gosain completed a fellowship in craniofacial surgery through the NYU School of Medicine in 1992.
Since the inception of his career, Dr. Gosain has been certified by the American Board of Surgery and American Board of Plastic Surgery. He has been licensed to practice in Illinois since joining Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago in 2012. Previously, Dr. Gosain served as the division chief of pediatric plastic surgery, director of the Craniofacial Anomalies Clinic, and director of the Vascular Anomalies Clinic with Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital in Cleveland. During this time, he also served as the vice chair of the Department of Plastic Surgery and program director of plastic surgery residency with the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
Dr. Gosain has been continually recognized for his contributions to medicine and health care. He has been honored as a Top Doctor of Plastic Surgery by Castle Connolly since 2013 and a Best Doctor in America by Best Doctors since 2003. While holding numerous positions at Case Western Reserve University, Dr. Gosain was named Educator of the Year in the Department of Plastic Surgery. Most recently, he was named Clinician of the Year by the American Association of Pediatric Plastic Surgeons in 2018.
