Just one year into his time with the company, Dr. Kim was honored with a 2013 Silver Award with Samsung's End of Year Achievement Award for television quality enhancement. In 2014, he was presented the Gold Award for his work on UHD development, and he earned a 2014 Superior Award and Paper Award in the S/W Division, followed by a 2015 End of Year Achievement Award, as well as a Grand Award for television quality enhancement. He intends to continue with Samsung for many years to come.
The curved Samsung television is now available in the U.S., and offers what Forbes magazine calls more immersive, with a wider field of view, and with increased sharpness at the edges of the image. Techradar heralded it as one of the best televisions for gaming. Dr. Kim is the proud father of Seojin Kim, and the husband of Yoonkyeong Sung. His parents are Jongsik Kim and Misuk Kim. In his spare time, Dr. Kim naturally enjoys watching movies on some of the products he has helped to develop.
