With nearly 40 years of experience in the legal industry, Ms. Kamine has been a partner with Kamine Law, PC, since 2009. In this position, she has advised numerous organizations on construction and procurement issues. She has served as an arbitrator more than 250 times and as a mediator in construction industry cases. Prior to obtaining her current role, she worked as an assistant city attorney with the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office for more than 30 years, representing the city on public works construction, including bid protests, bidder responsibility hearings, subcontractor hearings, and trials and appeals in both state and federal courts, providing advice to the Departments of Public Works, Water & Power, Recreation & Parks, Police and Fire. Upon graduation from law school, Ms. Kamine was a research attorney for the California Court of Appeal, Justice H. Ashby, Retired.
Ms. Kamine began her career with an undergraduate degree from the University of California, San Francisco and began to work as a dental hygienist. However, she found that the work wasn't challenging enough, so she enrolled in law school, earning a JD, cum laude, from the Southwestern University College of Law in 1978.
As a respected voice in the field, Ms. Kamine is affiliated with numerous professional organizations, including the State Bar of California, serving on the executive committee of the Public Law Section and as Chair of the Continuing Education of the Bar [CEB] and the American Arbitration Association. In addition, she co-wrote Chapter 22 of Matthew Bender's "California Forms of Jury Instruction," which is focused on construction contracts. Throughout her career, she has been recognized for her contributions to law, including by the Los Angeles County Bar Association, of Real Property Law, Construction Law Subsection, and has been named among the Best Lawyers in America multiple times. She also received the Robert B. Flaig Award for Outstanding Construction Lawyer 2016 from the Los Angeles County Bar Association, was selected as a fellow of the Construction Lawyers Society of America. Looking to the future, Ms. Kamine intends to expand upon her expertise in the field of construction law.
