FULTON, MD, March 16, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- James Robert Simms has recently been identified and profiled in Who's Who as the one and only top achiever in the world. He had previously been profiled as one of the three percent of the lifetime achievers. He was first listed in the Frontiers of Sciences and Technology (2nd edition) in 1985. He has since been profiled in four Who's Who in the World.
Mr. Simms initiated efforts to develop a quantitative living system science in 1964. He is a World War II veteran and saw the devastation of war. He worked in the aerospace field on the Titan Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) that carries a nuclear warhead. James was a systems engineer. He knew that civilization as we know it could easily be destroyed. He is a physicist and understands that wars are started and conducted by politicians, religions, behavioral scientists and practitioners. He concluded that a quantitative living system science could be constructed and that a living system science was a way to negate nuclear warfare and the destruction of civilization. His work has resulted in three books and dozens of papers. He is currently working on his fourth book "Quantitative Life Science." Mr. Simms spent his career in aerospace. He has worked on various missile programs, drones, the first communication satellite and the first earth resources satellite. He is an inventor and holds patents. He has been a manager in aerospace companies and later started and ran his own company.
A Measure of Knowledge: A theory of knowledge is presented in this book which provides a basis for measuring and quantifying knowledge. The theory can be summarized as: Knowledge is directly proportional to its capacity to direct energy. The theory is developed from fundamental definitions, axioms and general concepts. Equations are developed relating knowledge to directed energy: units of knowledge are developed, and examples are given for major classes of substances. One of the author's objectives is to formulate a theory of knowledge that will provide a step on the path toward more reliable quantification of behavioral phenomena and thus provide a rigorous foundation for the social sciences and a quantitative science of life. The Limits of Behavior: A Quantitative Social Theory: A review of extant social theory revealed that these theories did not include the quantitative universal phenomena of life. A quantitative social theory was developed in the book: The Limits of Behavior: A Quantitative Social Theory. The Systems Inquiry Series. Published by Intersystems Publications. The book was reviewed by Alexander King, the world renowned scientist and founder of "The Club of Rome." He approved the science and suggested application to a world economic system.
Principles of Quantitative Living Systems Science. The previous two books and a number of scientific papers led to the hypothesis that fundamental measures and principles can be discovered for a quantitative social/political science that is equivalent to those of the physical sciences. This hypothesis is proven in the book Principles of Quantitative Living Systems Science. The forward to this book was written by James G. Miller, a major scientist in Living Systems. Mr. Simms is currently finishing a book titled Quantitative Life Science.
An expert in the field of professional engineering, Mr. Simms retired as the president of Simms Industries, Inc. in 1997, having led the company since 1983. Prior to that, he was a senior associate with Booz, Allen & Hamilton from 1975 to 1983, a private consultant from 1973 to 1975, and a program manager with General Electric from 1971 to 1973. He was with Systems Research Corp. as the director of operations from 1970 to1971, and a program manager from 1967 to 1970. Earlier in his career, he was on the senior technical staff of ITT Intelcom from 1963 to 1967, a manager of electronics and systems engineering with Fairchild from 1961 to 1963, and with the Martin Co. as a systems engineer from 1956 to 1961, and an electronic engineer from 1950 to 1956.
Mr. Simms began his career by serving three years in the U.S. Navy, going on to earn a degree in physics from the University of Oklahoma in 1950. He is a member of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma and was named Cherokee Warrior in 2015. He has authored three books, including "A Measure of Knowledge," "The Limits of Behavior: A Quantitative Social Theory" and "Principles of Quantitative Living Systems Science." He has also has over two dozen papers published in various professional journals throughout his career and was a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the American Society of Cybernetics. He is also a member of American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), the Washington Academy of Sciences and the International Society of Systems Sciences (ISSS).
Mr. Simms is a co-inventor of a missile guidance system and an inventor of a mobile security system. He is a patent holder. He has conducted an extensive amount of research in quantitative causal mythologies and theories in behavioral, social and political sciences, systems research and analysis. He was involved in his community having served as county coordinator for the election of Congresswoman Byron in 1978, 1980 and 1982 and he was on the board of directors of the Southern Howard County Democratic Club from 1979 to 1983. He got his pilot's license at sixty and was flying his own plane on his 91st birthday. He had single and twin engine aircrafts that he enjoyed flying around the USA. He was widowed twice and has one daughter, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
