A widely regarded mechanical engineering researcher, Dr. Park has served as a senior director with the Mold Technology Team at Hyundai Mobis since 2015. Prior to obtaining this position, he worked with the Mold & Dies Technology R&DB Group at the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology as a senior researcher from 2004 to 2014.
Dr. Park began his career as a student at the Seoul National University of Science and Technology, where he obtained a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering in 2004. He went on to attend Ajou University, where he completed a Master of Mechanical Engineering in 2006 and a PhD in 2013. A respected voice in the scientific community, Dr. Park has authored numerous works pertaining to his areas of expertise. His most recent publications include "Effects of the viscosity and thermal property of fluids on the residual wall thickness and concentricity of the hollow products in fluid-assisted injection molding" in the International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, "A Study on the Estimation of Plastic Deformation of Metal Parts in Multi-Cavity Injection Molding by Injection- Structural Coupled Analysis" in the International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, "Structural Analysis Examining the Mold Deformation Behavior for the Detection of the Flash in the Injection Mold" in International Polymer Processing, "A study on gas penetration behavior in gas-assisted powder injection mounding" in the International Journal of Materials and Product Technology, and "Development of Metal Plate with Internal Structure Utilizing the Metal Injection Molding (MIM) Process" in Materials. In addition, He is the author and co-author of more than 119 articles on injection molding published in technical journals and presented at conferences. He also acted as a technology consultant and served as an evaluation committee member of the National Research Project.
In recognition of his contributions to mechanical engineering, Dr. Park was selected to receive a Best Paper Award from the Korea Society for Technology of Plasticity in 2006. He has secured numerous Korean patents, including "Filling imbalance adjusting apparatus and method for injection mold," "Viscous fluid-assisted injection molding apparatus and molding controlling method the same," "Die for powder injection molding and method using the same," and "Rotation Stackable Prepreg and Prepreg Product Manufacturing Method Using the Same." Dr. Park also holds a U.S. patent entitled "Method for manufacturing dental scalar tip using powder injection molding process, mold used therein and scalar tip manufactured by the same." He is the son of Yong Chil Park and Eun Soo Kim, and is married to Mi Hyung Kim, with whom he has a child, Seon Woo Park.
