Dr. Gam works as a professional research scientist with the Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science
DAEJEON, REPUBLIC OF KOREA, March 29, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kee Sool Gam, Ph.D., has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Backed by 35 years of professional excellence in his field, Dr. Gam works as a professional research scientist with the Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science, where he started as a research scientist in 1982 and was promoted to the principal research scientist in 1996. During the course of his daily routine, he maintains responsibility for platinum resistance thermometry. Additionally, he designed and fabricated Korean–type metal fixed-point cells and developed the realization methods, resistance measurement system and furnace system using a closed-type and gas-pressure controlled heat pipe systems. He developed all fixed-points defined by the ITS-90 in the temperature range from -40℃ to 1000℃ and is in charge of calibration of long-stem SPRT and HTSPRT. Over the years, he has also served as a technical assessor and adviser for a variety of projects. He worked as a technical assessor for SCL and NML-SIRIM for temperature measurements and worked as a technical adviser for KIM-LIPI and VMI.
Prior to entering the field, Dr. Gam earned a Bachelor of Science in material science from Ulsan University and a Master of Science in physics from Sogang University. Eventually, he went on to earn a Doctor of Philosophy in physics from Chungnam National University. In order to remain abreast of changes in the field, he maintains affiliations with several industry-related organizations, including The Korean Physical Society and The Korean Sensors Society. Alongside other scholars in the field, Dr. Gam has lent his expertise to such articles as "Realization of the indium freezing point" which was published at KRISS and "Sapphire high temperature SPRT" registered in a US patent. He has had the honor of having his work included in such journals as Metrologia, Review of Scientific Instruments and Measurement Science and Technology. In the coming years, Dr. Gam intends to continue contributing to breakthrough research in the field of deep sea temperature measurements and development of a water calorimetry system for a primary system to measure a ionizing radiation power.
