With more than 40 years of industry experience to his credit, Dr. Granger has been retired since 1998, having most recently held the position of professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering for the U.S. Naval Academy from 1960 to 1998. Prior to this appointment, he was a discipline director for the U.S. Naval Academy from 1972 to 1975 and a principal engineer for Boeing in 1975. Dr. Granger began his career as a senior research scientist for the Glenn L. Martin Company from 1955 to 1960.

Before embarking on his professional path, Dr. Granger was enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving in the Republic of Korea from 1950 to 1952. Following his military service, he pursued an education at Pomona College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in 1955. He continued his studies with the Institute of Technology at Drexel University in 1959, receiving a Master of Science. Dr. Granger concluded his academic efforts at the University of Maryland, graduating with a Doctor of Philosophy in 1970.

Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Dr. Granger has contributed to numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. A lecturer with the University of Cambridge since 2000, he has previously worked as professor emeritus at the U.S. Naval Academy in 2001, an adjunct professor for Lake Superior College in 1999, and both as a director and principal lecturer for the "Introduction to Wing Flutter Symposium" in 1991. He has also been a visiting professor at several esteemed higher education establishments, such as Yale University in 1989, King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals from 1977 to 1979, and the University of Zurich in 1978. Likewise, Dr. Granger has been a consultant for Boeing and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, as well as the visiting professor and director of Vortex Dynamics at the Symposium von Karman Institute.

Dr. Granger has also found much success in his written work as well, having contributed over 800 articles to publications in his field. The scientific contributor and editor for the Daily Sun from 1988 to 1999, he was the publisher and chief executive officer of Science Archives, Inc., in 1997. He has authored such esteemed work as "Fluid Mechanics" in 1985 and 1994, "Unified Method of Aeroelasticity" in 1986, "Experiments in Fluid Mechanics" in 1986, "Design of Spacecraft" in 1988, and "Introduction to the Flutter of Winged Aircraft" in 1992. Most recently, Dr. Granger has penned "Experiments in Heat Transfer and Thermodynamics" in 1994, "Life on Mars" in 1997, and "One is Infinity" in 2007.

In addition to his primary trade, Dr. Granger remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. An honorary member of the Institute of Modern Physics in Athens, Greece, he has maintained membership with the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Kappa Mu Epsilon and Alpha Gamma Sigma.

In light of his exceptional undertakings, Dr. Granger has accrued several accolades and honors throughout his impressive career. An honorary fellow of University of Cambridge in 1991, he was previously honored as a Fellow of the Ford Foundation in 1965. He was presented with a Meritorious Civilian Award by the U.S. Navy in 1996, and the Euler Book Prize from the Mathematical Association of America in 1999. Furthermore, Dr. Granger has been selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, Who's Who in the East and Who's Who in the South and Southwest.
