In addition to her role as a pediatrician, she serves as a developmental-behavioral pediatrics fellowship program director and clinical professor of pediatrics at the Tufts School of Medicine. She has been board certified in pediatrics and developmental behavioral pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics.
In preparation for her career, Dr. Miller earned a Doctor of Medicine from the Tulane University School of Medicine in 1977, having first commenced her education in 1973. Focusing her attention on developmental disorders, specifically autism, Dr. Miller co-founded the Boston Autism Consortium, a cutting-edge institution dedicated to the research, diagnosis, and treatment of autism with specific consideration to the genetics of autism, family support, and clinical care.
As a leading expert in the fields of pediatrics and developmental disabilities, Dr. Miller maintains affiliations with several professional organizations, including the National Center for Learning Disabilities and the Society for Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics. A fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, she has also served as an author and coauthor of multiple publications regarding autism such as the Journal of Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics, the New England Journal of Medicine, and the Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders. Furthermore, Dr. Miller has hosted numerous presentations throughout her career in locations such as Illinois, Hawaii, Wyoming, and California.
In recognition of her exceptional achievements, Dr. Miller has been honored with accolades throughout her career. In 2012, she was listed in the top 1 percent in the nation in her specialty by U.S. News & World Report. In addition, she was named a Top Doctor by Boston Magazine in 2012, 2013, and 2015. The proud grandmother of three grandchildren, Dr. Miller enjoys swimming and playing with her grandchildren in her spare time.
