GYEONGSANGBUK-DO, REPUBLIC OF KOREA, April 09, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Hyunjeong Cho has been included in Marquis Who's Who. With more than 20 years of professional experience, Ms. Cho has served as a research scientist with the Division of Safety Analysis at the National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service since 2000. In this position, she helps develop rapid and simultaneous detection methods of pesticides, mycotoxins, and antibiotics in food and feed using High Performance Liquid Chromatography and Gas Chromatograph with Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer. In addition, she researches in-situ methods for the rapid detection of pathogenic microorganisms, and detection of food-borne pathogens in produce that poses a threat to food safety using culturing and the PCR method.
Ms. Cho received a Bachelor of Arts from the Department of Food Technology at Chungnam National University in 1994, going on to complete a Master of Science with the Department of Biotechnology Engineering at Unsei University in 2003. Since completing formal education, Ms. Cho has worked as a food processing engineer, as well as an assessor of testing laboratories at the Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme. She holds a particular interest in food safety and change of the agricultural environment relating to world climate change.
Throughout her career, Ms. Cho has contributed numerous articles to industry publications. Her most recent works include "Hyperspectral Determination of Fluorescence Wavebands for Multispectral Imaging Detection of Multiple Animal Fecal Species Contaminations on Romaine Lettuce," "Characterization of E-coli biofilm formations on baby spinach leaf surfaces using hyperspectral fluorescence imaging" and "Quantitative analysis of Sudan dye adulteration in paprika powder using FTIR spectroscopy. Food Additives and Contaminants - Part A Chemistry, Analysis, Control, Exposure and Risk Assessment." A patentee in her fields of expertise, Ms. Cho most recently received "In-situ Portable Device of Detecting Fecal Contamination for Food Safety," a Korean patent, in 2017. She has delivered numerous oral presentations, including "Rapid decomposition assessment of bovine manure composts using hyperspectral fluorescence imaging," "Development of Rapid Method for Glyphosate Residue in Agricultural Products using High Performance Liquid Chromatography - Tandem Mass Spectroscopy" and "Development for analytical method of multi-residue pesticide of 424 in agricultural products."
Since 2010, Ms. Cho has served as a council member with the Korean Society of Analytical Science & Technology. She previously served as a technical expert for several testing laboratories in Korea, including NS Shopping Co., Ltd., Korea Analytical Technique Research Institute Co., Ltd., and Ourhome Co., Ltd. Ms. Cho maintains involvement with a wide range of industry organizations, including the Korean Society for Applied Biological Chemistry and the Korean Society of Pesticide Science. In recognition of her contributions, Ms. Cho was selected to receive the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018. Looking toward the future, Ms. Cho looks forward to sharing her professional skills and knowledge by teaching students in college or university.
