Mr. Livingston, the owner and president of Livingston Educational Support Services, founded his business in Minneapolis 20 years ago in 1998. He is a former high school science and mathematics teacher who also taught at the university level between 2000 and 2002. Teaching in and around St. Paul and Minneapolis his entire career, he first worked for the Archdiocese of Minneapolis and St. Paul from 1970 to 1979, concluding his classroom hours many years later with Center School in Minneapolis in 2004.
First earning a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy at the University of Minnesota in 1967, Mr. Livingston went on to complete a Master of Arts in philosophy at Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania in 1969, followed by a Master of Education at the University of St. Thomas in 1987. He was a certified science teacher for grades 7-12 in the state of Minnesota and held variances to teach all subjects 7-12.
In 1989, Mr. Livingston authored his first book "We Have Cried So Many Time Before" in 2002. He was the editor of the magazine "MINED" during 2000 and 2001, wrote and directed "Trans State" in 2006, and was the writer and publisher for "Marginalia, Lavender Dandelions," "In the Middle of the Road" "A Crying Shame: Education in America" and a three-volume set in 2006, which included "Middle Night," "Beloved Memories," and "Mother Superior." Furthermore, Mr. Livingston contributed approximately 175 poems in 100 different journals. In 2017, he was included in Ageless Authors Anthology's first edition, which includes the best work from writers 65 years old and older. He previously earned a Minnesota Playwrights' Discovery Award by VSA Arts in 1999 and received an Artist Recognition Award from 1997 to 1999.
A longstanding member of the Minnesota Science Teachers Association, the Minnesota Center of Book Arts, and SASE, Mr. Livingston was involved locally as a former actor with the Midtown YWCA Theater in Minneapolis, vice chairman of the PEACE (Parents of East Africans Common Efforts) in Minneapolis, member of the Board of Seward Neighborhood in Minneapolis, and founder and facilitator of the Southside Writers' Studio in Eagan, MN. The proud father of four children, Mr. Livingston enjoys dancing and camping in his free time. He has been highlighted in the 60th and 61st editions of Who's Who in America.
