Working in private practice until his retirement in 2015, Mr. Siverd was previously senior counsel with Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP from 2014 to 2015. In addition, he was executive vice president, general counsel, and secretary with General Cable Corp. from 1994 to 2014, and senior vice president, general counsel, and secretary of the same corporation from 1992 to 1994.
In addition to his primary roles, Mr. Siverd acted as vice president associate of general counsel and vice president of litigation counsel with American Financial Group, Inc., from 1986 to 1992, as well as a staff vice president of litigation counsel with the same corporation from 1983 to 1987. He began his career as an associate with Donovan Leisure Newton & Irvine from 1973 to 1983.
To prepare for his esteemed career, Mr. Siverd first obtained a Bachelor of Arts in French from Georgetown University in 1970, followed by a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the same academic institution in 1973. Traveling abroad, he completed postgraduate coursework at The Sorbonne in Paris, France, in 1969. He has been admitted to practice in the states of New York, Ohio, and Kentucky, as well as before the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second, Third, and Sixth Circuits, the U.S. Supreme Court, and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
A member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, Mr. Siverd has been married to Bonita Marie Shulock since 1972, and he is the proud father of two children, Robert Jr. and Veronica Leigh. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing and traveling.
