With 45 years of industry experience, Ms. Jones-Burbridge has worked as the president of Jones-Burbridge Consulting since 2013. Prior to this appointment, she served as an associate director of the Texas Juvenile Crime Prevention Center at Prairie View A & M University from 2002 to 2013. Previously, Ms. Jones-Burbridge held a number of positions for the Harris County Juvenile Probation Department, including as deputy director of human resources from 1996 to 2002, assistant executive director from 1993 to 1996, training and volunteer/intern administrator from 1978 to 1993, and juvenile probation officer from 1973 to 1978.
Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Jones-Burbridge pursued an education at Dillard University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in sociology in 1971. She concluded her studies in 1975, graduating from Texas Southern University with a Master of Arts in guidance and counseling. Ms. Jones-Burbridge followed these accomplishments with a certificate in professional human resources from the Society for Human Resource Management in 2000.
Beyond her efforts within the field, Ms. Jones-Burbridge has contributed to numerous endeavors in her professional circles. She has worked on multiple committees in her community in Houston, TX, including on the Criminal Justice Committee for the Mayor Sylvester Turner Transition Team in 2016, the Human Resources Committee for the Sheriff Ed Gonzalez Transition Team in 2017, and the Planning Committee for the Neighborhood of Sunnyside in 2016. Likewise, she was appointed on the board of directors for the Proper Self-Esteem-Academics-Character-Employment Youth Program from 2006 to 2013. Furthermore, Ms. Jones-Burbridge has been on the board of directors for the Gulf Coast Trades Center and Raven Charter School District since 2005, the latter of which she has held the role of secretary since 2017.
In addition to her primary trade, Ms. Jones-Burbridge remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. Since 2016, she has served on the Right2Justice Committee for the Texas Organizing Project. She has also contributed to the Texas Organizing Project as a member of the Boards and Commissions Leadership Institute in 2017, a member of the American Leadership Forum since 2015, and joined the board of trustees with that same organization in 2017.
Attributing to her success to the support of her parents, Ms. Jones-Burbridge has been motivated to aid the Sunnyside community as an advocate in their memory. In addition to her consulting business, she has proudly applied her accrued management experience towards community outreach and organizational development.
