A seasoned attorney with close to five decades of legal experience, he formerly served as partner at Harter, Secrest & Emery in Rochester between 1976 and 2012, where he was an associate attorney for seven years prior. During his tenure at Harter, Mr. Buckley was co-editor of Administration of New York Estates and a contributing author to Estate Planning and Probate in New York.

He is a longtime member of the Estate Planning Council of Rochester and the International Association of Financial Planners, member and former chairman of the trusts and estate section and former banking liaison committee member of the Monroe County Bar Association, and an elected fellow of the Florida Bar Association and the American College of Trusts and Estates Council. Mr. Buckley has also spent many years in community service, serving on such boards as the Daystar for Medically Fragile Children and the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC). A 30-year member and former board chair at Highland Hospital, he is past chair of the Highland Hospital Foundation and co-chair of the Hospital's capital campaign committee. He received a Highland Hospital Foundation Heritage Award for his efforts in1996. Mr. Buckley is currently a board member of URMC, and past chair of URMC's development committee.
