Prior to his retirement, he worked as a teacher of mathematics and occupational work adjustment for the Cleveland Metropolitan School District from 1965 to 1996. During this time, Mr. Kennedy served on the curriculum writing committee for the Cleveland Metropolitan School District in 1987, 1989, and 1992.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Kennedy pursued an education at Langston University, earning a Bachelor of Science in 1965. He completed his studies at Kent State University, graduating with a Master of Arts in 1979. Certified as a teacher in the State of Ohio, Mr. Kennedy followed these accomplishments with ordain as a local elder by the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church.
Beyond his efforts within the field, Mr. Kennedy has contributed to numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. He has held the position of treasurer for Quinn Chapel AME in Cleveland, OH, from 1985 to 1997 and from 2001 to 2005. He also contributed to the instructors division of the Occupational Work Adjustment Program from the State of Ohio. From 2005 to 2012, Mr. Kennedy was a church administrator and pastor for Allen Temple AME Church.
In addition to his primary trade, Mr. Kennedy remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. In 1992, he served on the membership committee for the Cleveland Industrial Arts Club Society. He was also the president of the Cleveland chapter of the Langston University National Alumni Association, Inc. Furthermore, he has been recognized as a lifetime member of the Langston University National Alumni Association, Inc., the Ohio Vocational Association, and the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. In light of his exceptional undertakings, Mr. Kennedy has been selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education and Who's Who in the Midwest.
