Responsible for the development of new theoretical and experimental methods for the study of genes and DNA, with an application in different biological and pathological processes, nanoscale characterization of different materials used in orthopedics and implant surgery, new materials for dental implants, new algorithms and tools in molecular genomics, Dr. Giacomelli has contributed multiple articles and scientific papers to professional and peer-reviewed journals over the years. He also served on the editorial board for several indexed scholarly journals.
Serving on a number of committees during his career, Dr. Giacomelli has been a research advisor and member of the advisory board for the board of international forum evidence-based dentistry and comparative-effectiveness research at the University of California at Los Angeles since 2009, was a member of the permanent scientific committee of ceramic, cells and tissues international meeting in Faenza, Italy, and is currently leading the TRACE international committee in the field of ceramics. He also has cooperation with several research hospitals, including the the Cisanello Hospital in Pisa, Italy, and the National Institute of Tumori in Milan.
He has held a degree in pharmaceutical biotechnology from the University of Milan since 2004, a Master of Science in scientific communication, cum laude, from the University of Milan since 2005, and a Doctor of Philosophy in biophysics, cum laude, from the University of Genoa since 2007. Dr. Giacomelli has been highlighted in several editions of Who's Who in Science and Engineering and Who's Who in the World for his work.
